Our story
Meet The Founders
We’re Mary and Monica, the people behind SOYAME — a small candle studio based in West Sussex.
Our story began with a shared love for beautiful fragrances. We were always buying candles for our home, but often found ourselves looking for something a little different — scents we genuinely loved, paired with designs that felt just as special.
So one day, in the conservatory of our home, we decided to try making our own. We started experimenting with wax, fragrances and different ideas, learning as we went. That first candle quickly became another, and before long, what had started as something we simply enjoyed doing became much more than that.
Our conservatory eventually gave way to our own studio, where SOYAME candles are made today. We still love experimenting with new fragrances and designs, and seeing an idea turn into a finished candle never really gets old.
SOYAME grew out of something we genuinely enjoyed creating together, and that’s still at the heart of what we do today. We want to make candles that feel a little different — the kind you’re excited to give to someone, or just as happy to keep for yourself.

What makes us different?
We could tell you our candles are hand-poured, made with a premium soy wax blend, and finished with care — and they are. But what we really want is for a SOYAME candle to become part of a moment. The quiet ten minutes with a book. The morning coffee before the day gets busy. The favour a guest keeps long after the party's over.
That's what we're really trying to give you — not just a candle, but a little bit of warmth and meaning to go with it.
Our process
It Starts With the Right Materials
What goes into our candles matters just as much as how they look. We choose our suppliers and materials ourselves, always looking for the best quality we can find. Whether it’s the soy wax, fragrance, wicks or the smaller details, we want to use materials we genuinely feel good about putting into a SOYAME candle.
